Teaching Statement
While developing a strong technical foundation, I introduce solo and ensemble literature at appropriate levels for each student. Lessons are tailored to the individual student to maximize success and reach desired goals, and I encourage deliberate, mindful practice sessions to make the most of busy schedules.

Biography
Katherine is a Vancouver-based low brass educator, clinician, and performer. She is the Tuba Instructor for the UBC Summer Music Institute, teaches low brass clinics throughout Metro Vancouver, and maintains an active private studio.
Katherine has performed with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver New Music Society, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra "Tiny Tots" series, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and brass chamber ensembles in Metro Vancouver. Katherine studied with Peder MacLellan of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Nick Sullivan of the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in masterclasses with Daniel Perantoni (Indiana University), Eugene Dowling (University of Victoria), Paul Beauschesne (Victoria Symphony Orchestra), and Zach Spellman (San Francisco Opera).
