Teaching Statement
Working with children comes easily to me and I love building relationships with children and adults alike through the introduction of musical concepts, ideas, shapes and characters. I continue to have fun with my students, many of which have been with me for a number of years. Though I am myself a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music and help many of my students with the successful completion of RCM grade levels, I am very flexible in terms of repertoire and style which the student wishes to be taught.

Biography
Anastasia is a pianist and music educator with over 13 years of teaching experience in classical and pop music and a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music Education. She has substantial experience in guiding students through all levels of practical and theoretical RCM examinations, all the way to university preparations. Outside of teaching, she is an accomplished accompanist and conductor with a strong emphasis on ensemble work in an orchestral and operatic setting. She is the artistic director and founder of a new chamber orchestra in Toronto, Musica Reflecta, which focuses its programming on pairing contemporary Canadian compositions to reflect classical programming on the same theme. Most recently, she has had the pleasure of being member of the team at Tapestry Opera as an Artistic and Production Metcalf intern, exploring the making-of new contemporary opera on and behind the stage.
