Teaching Statement
I began teaching in NS in 2004, and moved to Kitchener just after my wedding in May 2014. As a recently relocated teacher, I have many openings for new students.
My past students ranged from high achievers (who won medals and awards) to children with mild learning challenges. My goal is to tailor lessons so that they are just right for each child. I encourage children to work hard and to do their very best, but I do not expect each child to progress at the same rate or fit into the same mold. I also enjoy teaching adults!
I teach Music for Young Children classes as well as private piano lessons. I have my ARCT in both piano performance and piano pedagogy. My interests also include recorder and voice, in which I have achieved Grade 8 and Grade 9, respectively. I am continuing to take voice lessons and enjoy being a music student and music teacher simultaneously.
Looking forward to making music with you!
