Biography
Originally from Russia, Natalia continued her piano studies with an excellent pianist from the Gnessin Conservatory, Elena Krakopolskaya, in Toronto, which lead to the completion of the Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music Diploma for Piano Performance in 2007. After touring with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in the summer of 2007, her passion for music brought her to Montreal, where she has completed the Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance from McGill University and is currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University under the tutelage of Marina Mdivani, a former student of Emil Gilels.
Natalia has been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships including the Madame Yvonne Chiu Best of Festival Trophy at Yip’s Music Festival, Maria Case Trophy at the ORMTA Scholarship Recital for an exceptional performance of a Canadian work and the Graduate Excellence Fellowship from McGill University. She has participated and placed at festivals such as the Kiwanis Festival of Greater Toronto, the Young Artist Competition at ORMTA Music Festival, the Mandarin Lions Arts Festival and the Canadian Music Competition. Aside from solo piano, Natalia enjoys a variety of chamber music projects, that vary from musicals, theatre productions, church service, duets and classical ensembles.
