Teaching Statement
My studio is grounded on two main principles:
1. To sing well in any desired style an understanding and cultivation of a vocal technique based upon free-flowing breath is necessary.
2. Singing is a wholistic pursuit which requires that we grow as musicians, people, artists, actors and communicators!
My aim in teaching is to provide the highest quality instruction to the amateur student. I desire to instill a love and appreciation for a variety of vocal styles to my students. These being primarily:
classical
jazz
contemporary/ pop
musical theatre
I have taught various ages of students, from ages 12 to mature adult, and love learning and exploring what the voice can do in all of these stages of life!
Performance opportunities for those interested will be offered at a minimum of twice a year. I am a registered Royal Conservatory of Music teacher and am able to prepare students for there examinations if this is something the student desires.

I have just moved back to Winnipeg, MB after living in Vancouver working for Vancouver Opera professionally as a young artist. I am very excited to be starting my own voice studio in central Winnipeg and looking forward to helping others develop and find their own unique voice. I am passionate about teaching voice from a musical and technical standpoint and instilling others with inspiration of this amazing vocal art form.
