Biography
Zabeth studied piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music Program. She completed her ARCT Performers Degree with First Class Honors. She has performed in numerous concerts including chamber music with members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the UBC Orchestra. She has adjudicated in piano competitions and also done extensive accompanying for all mediums of performers including choirs as well as for instrumental examinations. Zabeth has provided accompaniment for vocal production lessons and entertainment for gatherings requiring music.
Zabeth has over 20 years experience in teaching all ages and has taught in both private and group settings. She provides lessons in many styles of music including jazz, classical and ear playing and also teaches many programs for beginners using Alfed , Bastien, Leila Fletcher and more to more advanced training using the Royal Conservatory and Western Board programs. She teaches all pre requisites including Rudiments of Music, Harmony I, II and II, History I, II and III, Analysis, and Counterpoint. Zabeth is available to teach these in both group and private settings.
Zabeth has taught at Carillon Music at their Surrey, Burnaby and Langley locations, providing group classes in their CKC I and II courses, CMC I and II as well as Orff classes. She also taught at Regent Academy of Music and White Rock School of Music. She founded the Kristensen School of Music and taught there for many years before establishing her current studio.
Zabeth has studied under the late composer and pianist Walter Bresch, Performer Dietmar Schmeucker and with UBC faculty professor Alice Enns.
