Teaching Statement
I’m available to teach drum lessons in Toronto, either at my place or yours.
I’ve been teaching lessons since 1999. I have taught students of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are available for drumset as well as a variety of percussion. My own teachers have included Dave Elitch (Mars Volta, Miley Cyrus) John Wyre (Nexus, Toronto Symphony), Billy Ward (Joan Osborne, sessions), Rob Power (Memorial University) and Don Wherry (Sound Symposium).
Lessons can be geared towards your specific goals, or for general improvement of playing skills. Common areas of focus include reading, time keeping, phrasing, fills, applying rudiments to the drumset, creating drum parts, writing quick charts and improvisation.
